The earth looks better from a star that's right above from where you are

We’re currently on a futon pickup / mini vacation in the east bay.. it’s been good for the soul. After digging through Urban Ore and passing on an $18 foosball table (we’re going to regret that one) we went over to Solano Ave. we’re Serena spent much of her youth. Wanting to recreate her awkward teen years we walked up to indian rock. I though it would just be a big rock but I didn’t realize it had an awesome panoramic view of the bay.

Sitting up there while drinking coffee and discussing if we’d ever be capable of smoking pot again was the get away I’d needed. I found myself day dreaming about moving to Berkeley and raising kids up here. Do I really want to move? Not so much at the moment but there might be a time.

Back down on Solano we ate burrito’s and continued our walk. On our way back up the other side of the street we stopped at Schmidts Pub which is now one of my favorite places in the world. For those from Santa Cruz Schmidts is like if Pergolesi and The Poet and Patriot had a clean well lit baby.. Couches and tables to sit at, stacks of books and games and a bar tender playing indie/british rock. If I lived nearby I would frequent this establishment.

After I was trounced in cribbage we left the pub and promptly saw this sign.

Real Talk!

With the futon loaded up we’re heading over the San Francisco to meet up Schmoopy and Preggie Schmegeggie (Brian and Anna) for dinner. Mini vacations rule!
