This video makes me so happy it hurts my heart..

in a good way.

You know what isn’t quite so rad? Ordering bike parts online after having a beer or two and totally ordering the wrong sizes. Come on stoops! Those aren’t 25.4 handlebars!

Lastly how do you lose a softball game by like 15 runs while simultaneously crushing the collective soul of the other team. The Wild Hairs figured it out… See I developed an extreme dislike for the Lost Boyz (yea I think they spell it with a Z) after I arrived early to one of our softball games and watched them play against Poppa Colossus. The Boyz’ catcher couldn’t keep his mouth shut and was constantly heckling, calling “STRIKE” on horrible pitches and just generally being a total ass. He was backed up by two or so other players on the team who supplemented their mediocre softball skills with ample verbal diarrhea.

My next encounter with this amazing crew was when our team was playing Poppa Colossus and the Lost Boyz where playing after us. They were still bitter about their game with Colossus and heckled them from above our dugout. No lie.. one of them was making fun of the third baseman claiming he had on “a fag shirt”.. At this point let it be said that there were some players on their team trying to get the 3 dudes who truly suck to quiet down. But you know what? Even if you’re the nice guy in this situation the fact remains that you choose to spend your free-time with assholes.

So when I learned that we were playing the Boyz’z for our final game I was a bit bummed but like I said we figured out how to fight back… yea, scoring a boatload of runs and soundly stomping them would have been fun but that didn’t really seem in the cards. We considered forfeiting to them in order to play against another team (who we like) who showed up and the team they were set to play was not there. But we decided to stick it out and give these guys a game. Our tactic naturally developed during the game and was as follows. Just be louder, have as much fun as possible and say as many nonsensical things as possible.

Highlights were as follows..

LET’S GO HAIRS!”* as said repeatedly and bombastically by our own Johnny Candles
“We gotta keep this lead” we were consistently down by bare minimum of 8 runs
“Don’t get cocky!”
“Let’s keep our composure!” Joel really seemed to take to this line and delivered it in a great frenzied manner!
“Don’t be afraid to tag up Juan” quickly followed by DON’T BE AFRAID OF ANYTHING JUAN

Our endless banter entertained us, our fans (oh yes, we have fans) and the umpire. Know who wasn’t into it? The Lost Kooks. You could see that their whole team was on an emotional roller coaster. Even though they up by a ton of runs they were bumming so hard that we were having so much fun. It was like our own social experiment.

Anyways next week we’ll be at the playoffs, in the stands rooting for anyone who is not the Lost Boyz. Come on down it’ll be awesome! Oh and if the Wild Hairs seems like an organization you can back you should join our brand new Wild Hairs Facebook Group courtesy of Joel.
