OMG, who knew the French made awesome music?!?! Seriously.
This is just an all around great album.
Laura Gibson is, for me, a reminder that opening acts can be wonderful. Thanks Colin Meloy!
I swear, nine out of ten times that a song would come up on a genius playlist that I liked but didn’t know I’d ask AIW who it was and he’d guess, "the Harlem Shakes?" And he would be right! And so I eventually listened to the whole album.
Dark ’n moody.
What is this album all about? I don’t even know. Is "Dark Was The Night" a band? A producer? Who knows, but it’s got some good tunes from some of my favorite recording artists.
This album is great, it was in the CD player in my car for a long time until I almost burnt out on it and had to take a break. Now Fiest’s first album is in the CD player. Although both are good, I like My Maudlin Career better.
I love you Morrissey, I hope you’re feeling better.
I think this album would probably be in my top ten if I ever listened to it, but I haven’t really. However, I have listened to this song and it is great.
I think I only listened to the whole album once, but I really like this song.
Catchy song in the midst of so much sadness. I like how it picks up and slows down.
For a long time I thought he was saying "When I met you at the blood bath." Which gives this song a waaay different feel. I still like it though.
I know I’m biased, but my sister is a total rock star.
I wasn’t going to say that this album is overrated, because I think everyone’s entitled to their opinion, but then Sasha Frere Jones wrote a love letter to this album, which makes it okay to now call it overrated.
I highly anticipate loving this album. After all, this is the band whose first album includes the lyric "You’re the shit and I’m knee-deep in it" and makes it sound good.
