Albums of 2009

10 - VNV Nation - Of Faith Power And Glory

Favorite Tracks: sentinel, tomorrow never comes, art of conflict

although turned off by there seemingly more and more religious content and sound I still have a softy spot for this band...but they are kinda starting to creep me out

9 - Bat For Lashes - Two Suns

Favorite Tracks: daniel, siren song, two planets

reminded me of a darker mazzy star but full of substance. Remindes me of a dark red win warms your tummy but has a bit of bite on the palette.

8 - Black Heart Procession - 6

Favorite Tracks: when you finish me, drugs, heaven and hell

this album makes you either want to drink a pint of wiskey or hide under the covers. Melodic, hypnotic, moody and dark- exactly what was expected

7 - Metric - Fantasies

Favorite Tracks: help i am alive, gold guns girls, twilight galaxy

with lyrics like "higher than high, lower than deep" and "hard to be soft , tough to be tender" the female front woman proves she shes one hell of a song writer too

6 - Phoenix - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix

Favorite Tracks: 1901, lisztomania, armistice

Thought they might be riddin gon the coat tails of the MGMT scene and was skeptical at all the hype but this band won me over

5 - Pearl Jam - Backspacer

Favorite Tracks: the fixer, semisonic, got some, gonna see my friend

Eddy Vedder still has it after all these years- the fixer reminds us all of why we still cant wait to listen to what pearl jam has to offer

4 - Iamx - Kingdom Of Welcome Addiction

Favorite Tracks: an i for an i, the stupid the proud, nature of inviting

what can i say that this band hasn’t already- THEY RULE- also see their 2006 album with stand out songs like Negative sex and bring me back a dog

3 - Florence And The Machine

Favorite Tracks: dog days are over, my boy builds coffins, you’ve got the love

takes girl lead singers to a whole new level- each song of an epic nature

2 - Editors- In this light and on this morning

Favorite Tracks: bricks and mortar, papillion, eat raw meat= blood drool

Sounded so much like their debut studio album- was glad to have the sound that they are known and loved for back

1 - The Temper Trap - Conditions

Favorite Tracks: love lost, fader, rest

great album. epic. too bad they kinda suck live...it was a small venue so it could have been the sound engineer.
