Albums of 2008

8 - Sun Kil Moon - April

A wonderful album to fall asleep to at night. Honestly, I don't think that I have ever made it to the end of the CD!

7 - She and Him - Volume One

Perfect for a lazy Sunday of drinking coffee, crafts, and reading.

6 - The Charlatans UK - You Cross My Path

I call for a britpop revival!

5 - Nada Surf - Lucky

Simple, solid, stellar

4 - Paul Weller - 22 Dreams

I always get nervous when legendary musicians put out music late in their career. But this album does not disappoint!

3 - Mates of State - Re-Arrange Us

This was a fantastic way to end 2008, thanks Awmercy! Please refer to my upcoming review.

2 - Frightend Rabbit - Midnight Organ Fight

Nightrain suggested this CD on Quickcrit and it quickly became one my favorite albums to listen to at work.

1 - The Envy Corps - Dwell

Numerous mornings, I have woken up humming their songs. The entire album is a real treat - excellent recommendation AIW!

Singles of 2008

5 - Air Supply - "Making Love Out Of Nothing At All"

My mom had this cassette in her car and I would always insist that we listen to this song several times on the way to school. After rediscovering this tune, I wonder if my mom thought I was a weird 7th grader.

4 - Stars - "Elevator Love Song"

pop bliss

3 - Los Campesinos! - "My Year in Lists"

Lists are fun.

2 - Kings of Leon "Sex On Fire"

Yup, my sex is on fire. It also feels like a long lost Bruce Springsteen song.

1 - Nada Surf - "I Like What You Say"

honest and catchy

Albums before 2008

4 - Big Star - #1 Record

Love is a mixtape, baby.

3 - Tegan and Sara - The Con

Stop laughing Jesse. I'm a fan of their vocals and angst.

2 - Acid House Kings - Sing Along With the Acid House Kings

Brasilliant is responsible for me loving this band.

1 - Stars - Set Yourself On Fire

This album got me back into painting. Check it out.

Best concert of 2008

Los Campesinos @ The Troubadour 6/7/08

Please refer to my summer short list.

Biggest musical dissapointment 2008

Jenny Lewis - Acid Tongue

Everyone is entitled to make a luke warm album, I guess...
