Albums of 2008

10 - Bittersweet - Drama

Sort of Portishead-like without the gloom and doom.

9 - Kings of Leon - Only by the Night

Awesome band, solid album.

8 - Ladytron - Velocifero

Hungarian chicks with a British Electro Pop sound? I'm in.

7 - The Slackers - Self Medication

I am probably underrating this album.

6 - The Mars Volta - The Bedlam in Goliath

Most innovative band in 08'.

5 - The Heavy - Great Vengeance and Furious Fire

Stand out tracks, great breakout album, can't wait to see what comes next from them...

4 - Santogold - Santogold

Amazing creativity, style for days.

3 - James Hunter - The Hard Way

Just a sucker for good old rock and roll and the people who do it well.

2 - Chromeo - Fancy Footwork

Resurrecting of the keyboard and 80s funkyness, thank you Chromeo, thank you, thank you, thank you.

1 - The Black Keyes - Attack and Release

What can you say about the boys from Ohio? Fucking talented.

Singles of 2008

Intriguing album, awesome song.

4 - Husslah & B Luv - Cuttin it up

Finally, these guys get what Bay Area rap is all about

3 - Trace Adams - Your Gonna Miss This

Ok, I know its corny pop country, but I love this song, the lyrics are right on the money.

2 - The Faint - Forever Growing Centipedes

Was a little disappointed in the album, but good god, this song makes up for it, The Faint at it's finest.

1 - Pop Levi - Dita Dimone

Thanks Mercy, love this guy.

Albums before 2008

5 - Le Tigre - Le Tigre

Awesome pop/punk album, these chicks (and guy) know how to rock the party.

4 - The New Original Sonic Sound - The New Original Sonic Sound

New twist on the epic band The Sonics.

3 - Thievery Corporation - Cosmic Game

Revisited this album while working on atmosphere music for a nightclub, very solid music for chillin wit a lil bit a illin.

2 - Joe Bataan - Call My Name

Don't hurt em' Joe.

1 - Nancy Wilson - Save Your Love Me

One of the best voices of all time, doesn't get enough props.

Best concert of 2008

he Merry Widows

Didn't get out to many this year, but "The Merry Widows" were awesome. They are a all female psychobilly band with a 300 pound dominatrix lead singer. I have never been so scared and so turned on at the same time in my entire life, really hard to explain actually, you just have to see her in person. Check em out, she belts out a hell of a show, Black Widow is a killer song.

Biggest musical dissapointment 2008

The Fashion - The Fashion

They kind of remind me of Mona's band The Sounds, only not as cool, and no boobs on the cover. I heard one of their tracks "Solo Impala" and liked it, so I bought the album expecting a lot, and was sorely disappointed with only 3 songs worth listening to.
